It feels to me the 'dietology', the proliferation of ideology's, is somewhat self inflicted. Perhaps too many are looking for the 'quick fix' that resolves immediately the problem we are trying to solve? We need to lose weight? I want to lose it now. I don't want to wait 3 or 6 months until I start to see real, sustainable results of the combination of exercise and a healthy nutritious diet.

We leave a huge gaping wide open space for those 'influencers' to which you refer to jump into readily into and welcome them with open arms as they provide the hope that kills ??!!

I love Jim Rohn's quote "We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret." I think you can apply that to the food we eat both in terms of content and volume. Thank goodness to your point that the good folk fighting the good fight are rising to the top - we need you!

This certainly plays into it. Take a look at my related article: https://jamescollier.substack.com/p/messiah-syndrome-in-nutrition

There's so much more to say on this issue: coming soon!

What's your take on Bryan Johnson's Blueprint (Don't Die)? I'm not sure if I would consider what he's doing to be peddling Dietology, but I'd love to know what you think.

Bryan is interesting. He's collecting data - brilliant. But he's not adjusting for confounding factors so, on it's own, it's of limited validity. But, no, he's not ideological so it's not dietology!

Fair. He is n=1, so that makes sense. Thank you for your response, James!
